Ear Candling
Our Ear Candling treatment, or, "Auricular Therapy" is our 2nd most request service since we started doing this in 1995!
Auricular Detox (Ear Candling) :
Ear and body treatment candles, which are either hollow linen tubes or cones, have been used since the dawn of time in many parts of the world to treat numerous ailments
such as otitis (glue ear), migraines, deafness, sinusitis, allergies, tinnitus, etc. as well as for relaxation and stress relief.
They are also used for cosmetic problems such as oily skin, juvenile acne and poor circulation.
There are generally 3 steps to the Treatment. First, we normally begin with a short 10-15 minutes in our SOQI-SPA (optional).
This helps to enhance the effect of the Candling Treatment, but to also help you relax, unwind or de-stress, making the treatment even more enjoyable and beneficial.
Following the actual Candling, a brief energy, clearing, or "assist" is performed. This is hands on or off, depending of the Patient and Therapist.
This Prepares the Patient for their step back into the present as many fall asleep or drift away throughout the Treatment.
How do we do this?
- - Your practitioner will have you lie comfortably on your side. Blankets and Pillows provided to make you comfy as possible.
- - With your assistance, The pointed end of the candle is placed gently in your ear...
- - As the candle burns, it will be trimmed and kept open.
- - No wax is allowed to drip into the ear as we use only 100% parrafin free - Bees Wax candles lined with Egyptian cotton.
- - The candle is burned for about 20 minutes.
- - The flame is carefully extinguished, and the candle is gently extracted (removed).
- ** It is imperitaive that BOTH ears are candled as a reflex effect takes place.
- *** If an additional candle is requiered we will let you know immediately and continue with your permission.
Ototherapy after care advice:
Your treatment aims to stimulate your body’s natural healing process by:
- Softening any hardened or compacted wax in order to clear the excess
- Draining any sinus congestion
- Balancing left and right labyrinths
- Cleansing any ear, nose or throat irritation
- Restoring balance of mind, body, spirit
After your treatment your body will begin to rid itself of unwanted products such as toxins.
This is your body’s natural reaction to your treatment and is a vital part of the detoxification process to restore balance.
Because of this you may experience temporary side effects, particularly after your first treatment.

Over the next 24-48 hours, you can help alleviate some of these symptoms and assist your body’s cleansing process by following the advice given below to remove the toxins
- Drink plenty of water.. Structured, Alkaline/Mineralized is optimal
- Reduce caffeine / alcohol intake
- Eat light meals
- Listen to your body – rest if you feel tired, take a walk if you feel energetic, but remember your body is working hard internally to clear out any toxins / waste products.
(If you have a TZONE whole body Vibration plate, lie down on the floor, place your calves onto the platform, a comfortable pillow under your neck and shoulders and run through a program, usually pre-set to 10 minutes at a slow speed between 2-10. This will affect your parasympathetic nervous system experiencing calm, but will continue to move the lymph, enhancing your detoxification process)... Please note how the treatment has improved your condition, i.e. breathing clearer, ears feeling clearer, improved hearing, better balance, clearer / less painful sinuses, noises fainter, sleeping better, feeling good, etc.
NB: On the day of the treatment you are advised to avoid using if possible a mobile phone and/or an iPod, avoid washing your hair and stay out of extreme wind.
If you wear a hearing aid, please wait as long as possible before putting it back. This allows for the formation of natural occuring waxes and protective beariers to take place.
